Scripture for Life

The Book of the Prophet
Isaiah
40

The LORD's Comforting Words to Zion
1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.

3 ¶ The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Mt. 3.3 · Mk. 1.3 · Joh. 1.23

4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

5 and the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. Lk. 3.4-6

6 ¶ The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

7 the grass withereth, the flower fadeth; because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Jas. 1.10, 11 · 1 Pet. 1.24, 25

9 ¶ O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. Is. 62.11 · Rev. 22.12

11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Israel's Incomparable God
12 ¶ Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counselor hath taught him? Rom. 11.34 · 1 Cor. 2.16

14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?

15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.

16 And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.

17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.

18 ¶ To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?

19 The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.

20 He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.

21 ¶ Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?

22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

23 that bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.

24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown; yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.

25 ¶ To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.

27 ¶ Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

31 but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Convocation: The Big Increase

Scripture:St. John 21:6 ...,Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find....

We are in deep prayer to increase the followers of this new church for people online.It is our thinking by way of the Holy Spirit that many people today literally live online. They conduct a large percentage of their time doing work and recreation on their computer. We understand this fact as well. Therefore this church is designed for them. There are some people who can not leave home for various reasons normally due to an illness.

Our prayer is to spread the word of God to them through this medium. We pray for all those who are online to visit us, read our message of Joy and follow. We also pray that they share is site with their contacts as well.

Jesus was waiting on the disciples to return from fishing after his death. They all returned to what they had been doing before they met Jesus. However, they were unsuccessful. Jesus said, go out again and cast the net on the right. They did so and caught so many fish that their nets broke and the boat almost sank.

We are casting net out on the right side of this site. We pray for the increase. We pray for and bless anyone who hears this prayer in Jesus name. Our prayer is for the power in the Gospel. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived according to the will of God, crucified on the cross for our sins,raise for the dead,and now sits in the right side of God. Jesus will return and destroy all evil. He will create a new Heaven and Earth. We will all (who believe) live forever in perfect peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus. A-men.

Bible Study

Psalms 3:8 8 Salvation F28 R55 belongs to the LORD; Your blessing R56 {be} F29 upon Your people! Selah.

Here we see two particular lessens in one main selection of scripture.
1. The idea of salvation, being saves, comes only from God and by God.

2. As a result of this act of salvation, it is indeed a bless for the people.

We need both a blessing and salvation today. The Lord is the source of all salvation and blessings. Therefore we must trust in the Lord of our salvation on order to receive the blessing. The real question involved in our lessen is:
Who is The Lord? The answer is Jesus Christ is both Lord and Savior. We have provided an addition background information on this particular lessen for you to study. We pray that you with ask the Lord for pure spiritual wisdom regarding His Divine Will regarding your experience with this lessen.

Cont. Study:

8. Two great truths he here builds his confidence upon and fetches comfort from. (1.) That salvation belongeth unto the Lord; he has power to save, be the danger ever so great; it is his prerogative to save, when all other helps and succours fail; it is his pleasure, it is his property, it is his promise to those that are his, whose salvation is not of themselves, but of the Lord. Therefore all that have the Lord for their God, according to the tenour of the new covenant, are sure of salvation; for he that is their God is the God of salvation. (2.) That his blessing is upon his people; he not only has power to save them, but he has assured them of his kind and gracious intentions towards them. He has, in his word, pronounced a blessing upon his people; and we are bound to believe that that blessing does accordingly rest upon them, though there be not the visible effects of it. Hence we may conclude that God’s people, though they may lie under the reproaches and censures of men, are surely blessed of him, who blesses indeed, and therefore can command a blessing. In singing this, and praying it over, we must own the satisfaction we have had in depending upon God and committing ourselves to him, and encourage ourselves, and one another to continue still hoping and quietly waiting for the salvation of the Lord.

The Psalms
40

Praise for Deliverance
Ps. 70.1-5
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit,
out of the miry clay,
and set my feet upon a rock,
and established my goings.

3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth,
even praise unto our God:
many shall see it, and fear,
and shall trust in the LORD.

4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust,
and respecteth not the proud,
nor such as turn aside to lies.

5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done,
and thy thoughts which are to us-ward:
they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee:
if I would declare and speak of them,
they are more than can be numbered.

6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire;
mine ears hast thou opened:
burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

7 Then said I, Lo, I come:
in the volume of the book it is written of me,

8 I delight to do thy will, O my God:
yea, thy law is within my heart. Heb. 10.5-7

9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation:
lo, I have not refrained my lips,
O LORD, thou knowest.

10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart;
I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation:
I have not concealed thy loving-kindness and thy truth
from the great congregation.

11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD:
let thy loving-kindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about:
mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up;
they are more than the hairs of mine head:
therefore my heart faileth me.

13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me:
O LORD, make haste to help me.

14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together
that seek after my soul to destroy it;
let them be driven backward and put to shame
that wish me evil.

15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame
that say unto me, Aha, aha.

16 Let all those that seek thee
rejoice and be glad in thee:
let such as love thy salvation
say continually, The LORD be magnified.

17 But I am poor and needy;
yet the Lord thinketh upon me:
thou art my help and my deliverer;
make no tarrying, O my God.
