Thoughts on Today's Verse...

With whom do you compare the incomparable? How do you grasp the infinite with a finite mind? When the quintessence of majesty is the God you contemplate, how can you ever speak of majesty about anything else? God exhausts our superlatives. God's glory bewilders our imaginations. God's greatness exceeds our wildest dreams. He is beyond what we can know or believe. Yet the Wonder of all his wonders is simply this: he limited himself to a baby, swaddled by loving parents in strips of cloth, and placed in a feed trough because there was no room for them in the inn. Sometimes the greatest of all wonders are not the ones that require our biggest and best words. Sometimes the greatest of all wonders wrap their tiny fingers around our own and capture our hearts.

My Prayer...

I do not know how to understand your incredible love for us, yes even for me. How could you enter our world in baby Jesus? Like the Magi, I bow and worship you, Lord Jesus, and our Father who sent you. Who is like you, O God? Nobody is even close. Yet for some reason known only to your grace, you have brought us close. I praise you for your majesty and I praise you for your manger. To your glory, precious Jesus, and in your name, I offer this praise. Amen.

Prosperity - Saturday, September 26, 2015 | Daily Word

I EMBRACE ABUNDANT LIVING AND GIVE THANKS.
True prosperity is no mystery—it is a manifestation of faith. Jesus gave us a pattern to follow. A crowd of 5,000 who had gathered to hear him speak needed a meal. Taking five loaves and two fish, Jesus turned his attention to God. He acknowledged his Source, gave thanks for what he had, and blessed it. He anticipated an abundance of food and a miracle occurred.
I follow the example of Jesus and give thanks in advance for what I desire. I share love with others and love returns to me. I give thanks for my healthy body, nourish it, and use it to serve God. I am vigorous and vibrant. I live in faith and gratitude and I am prosperous.

And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. And all ate and were filled.—Luke 9:16-17

Bible Verse of the Day, Encouraging Daily Reading

Acts 26:28-2928 Then Agrippa said to Paul, "Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?" 29 Paul replied, "Short time or long--I pray God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains."

Self-Care - Sunday, September 20, 2015 | Daily Word

I TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT.
Jesus taught us to love one another as ourselves. When we hear this, we may automatically think Jesus is speaking only about loving others. The truth is Jesus asks us to love ourselves first.
I am better able to care for others when I take care of myself. I honor my body temple by providing myself with good nutrition, adequate exercise, and appreciation for what I bring to the world.
I read uplifting books and magazines, I speak affirmative words about myself and others, and I refuse to be pulled down by another person’s pessimistic outlook. I look for and find the best in myself and in each person. In mind, body, and spirit, I take great care of myself.

Your eye is the lamp of your body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light; but if it is not healthy, your body is full of darkness.—Luke 11:34
