Bloom - Monday, March 31, 2014 | Daily Word

SPIRITUAL IDEAS BLOOM IN MY HEART.
When I hear about spiritual ideas such as love, generosity, and compassion, it is as if a seed has been planted in my mind. Just as a flower seed needs sun, rain, and time to take root, I nurture these divine ideas in prayer and meditation, and my understanding grows.
Like the sun warms a seedling, the light of Spirit illuminates my mind. Just as the cooling rains quench the earth’s thirst, the love of God nurtures me. I tap into the light and love of God in the silence of meditation. Through prayer, I remove the weeds of error thoughts, and let them go.
Spiritual ideas blossom in my life as bright and beautiful flowers. I am blessed.

What was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit.—Matthew 13:23

MY FAITH LIES WITH THE EVER-PRESENT POWER OF GOD.
In Spirit and in Truth there is only one power, the power of good, the power of God. At times, the world may seem to have dominion and authority; there may seem to be a power in the external; there may appear to be more than God, but it is not so.
There is only One Power and One Presence. It is the Power that gives us Life. It is All That Is. When we understand this, no so-called “power” in the world can prevail.
God is the energy that enlivens us, the sole power that impels us to understanding, health, peace, order, harmony, love, joy, and prosperity.
God is the power behind our own self-mastery. We cannot fail when we draw our power from the Divine.

You have given them dominion over the works of your hands.—Psalm 8:6

Wonder - Saturday, March 29, 2014 | Daily Word

I AM AMAZED AT GOD’S GOOD.
Wonder reflects a sense of reverence for all of life. I am filled with wonder as I gaze at a drop of rain perched on a leaf or behold the first ray of sunlight over the horizon at dawn.
I expand my sense of wonder by taking nothing for granted. I am captivated as I contemplate the world we live in. Each breath is a miracle—an intricate collaboration between the cells of my body and nature. Gravity holds me securely to Mother Earth, yet the birds fly with ease in the sky above.
I am immersed in awe and gratitude for what God can do. Whether a tiny baby or a majestic mountain; a grain of sand or a work of art—the creative activity of God is on display within and around me.

God has done this, so that all should stand in awe before him.—Ecclesiastes 3:14

Love - Friday, March 28, 2014 | Daily Word

I SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE, AND I AM BLESSED.
No words are needed to express or experience love. I share love through a smile, a wave, or by giving of my time and resources. I express love through a gentle hug or by listening to someone in need.
I experience love through my relationships and through communion with God. The language of love is all around me, filling my life with unending joy.
Today I let God’s love inspire and guide me. I live in the love of God, and I am courageous, compassionate, and peaceful.
I dedicate this day to the love of God. In all situations, it is my guiding light. Any problem is solved when I respond in love and serve as a beacon of love in the world.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.—John 13:35

Harmony - Thursday, March 27, 2014 | Daily Word

Harmony - Thursday, March 27, 2014 | Daily Word

I WELCOME HARMONY IN MY LIFE.
In music, dissonance is resolved by moving to a consonant chord. I sometimes may experience dissonance or conflict in my relationships. In the same way that I move my fingers to different keys on the piano, I can shift my words or actions or change my perspective to invoke harmony.
If I believe I lack the tools to resolve the issue, I open my heart to God and pray:Here is the situation. How can I see it differently? What can I learn? I surrender it all to the presence of God within me and listen for inner guidance and direction.
As I let go of conflict, I learn that every situation is a lesson in love. I learn how to respond mindfully, and my relationships are restored to peace and harmony.

Clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.—Colossians 3:14

Comfort - Wednesday, March 26, 2014 | Daily Word

GOD IS MY ALL IN ALL.
It is possible to be alone yet not lonely; to feel down but not out; to experience loss and recover. All is possible because the spirit of God fills me with a steady stream of comfort and love. If I experience loss or a broken heart, I invite the love of God to heal me. Divine love is powerful in restoring my body, mind, and spirit.
If I am grieving, I trust in the promise of Spirit’s comfort and restoration. I recall the story of Job, who went from having everything to losing everything—possessions, friendships, social status, and health. Eventually, God restored it all to Job, even beyond what had been lost. I trust in God within to restore me to wholeness. The ups and downs in life are temporary, but God’s love is constant and sure.

Remember, I am with you always.—Matthew 28:20
