World Day of Prayer - Thursday, September 12, 2013 | Daily Word

World Day of Prayer - Thursday, September 12, 2013 | Daily Word
MY POSITIVE THOUGHTS, WORDS, AND ACTIONS CREATE A HEALTHY LIFE—MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT.
The power of Divine Life dwells in me. It is my essential makeup, my true nature. Through the power of affirmative prayer, new ways of life are revealed to me.
As I develop the practice of thinking, speaking, and acting in life-affirming ways, I work with the power of Divine Life rather than against it. I allow health and wholeness—expressions of Divine Life—to manifest in my mind, body, and spirit.
I look for the good, for God, in every experience, expanding my awareness into a consciousness of wholeness. My speech is constructive as I cooperate with the creative process. I act in healthful ways that reflect my embodiment of the Divine. These thoughts, words, and actions create a healthy life.

Be renewed in the spirit of your minds.—Ephesians 4:23

Inner Peace - Wednesday, September 11, 2013 | Daily Word

Inner Peace - Wednesday, September 11, 2013 | Daily Word
I AM OPEN TO THE PEACE OF GOD WITHIN.
The world does not determine whether or not I am at peace. I am willing to let peace begin with me. Inner peace is a state of mind and heart, one I can choose anytime.
I take time right now to center myself in peace. In a moment of silence, I release any concerns and feel my oneness with God. I relax, breathe deeply, and rest quietly. I pray “Peace, be still!” until I feel peace in every fiber of my being.
Beginning my day with a peaceful heart, I become a channel of peace, opening the way for peaceful encounters in the hours ahead. I set the intention to bring awareness to my thoughts, words, and actions throughout the day and to stay centered in peace.

For God is a God not of disorder but of peace. —1 Corinthians 14:33

Cocreate

I COCREATE WITH GOD.
Lack is an illusion—a pretense that I could somehow be separate from the creative, infinite supply of God in me. If I am facing a challenge or the appearance of lack, I may feel unprepared or unable to handle the situation on my own. In prayerful contemplation, I remember the abiding Presence within me. I am not alone. As I open my heart, I feel the flow of divine creativity spring up within me.
In partnership with the creative power of God, I allow ideas to come forth. Divine ideas reveal the attitudes and actions that will lead me to my highest good. With God, I cocreate peace in place of discord, healing where there is brokenness, and substance instead of lack.

I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.—2 Corinthians 6:16

Prepared

I AM READY FOR THIS NEW DAY!
I awaken refreshed, renewed, and energized. To begin my morning, I start with prayer, connecting with Source. The ideas I hold in mind and heart help prepare me for the day ahead. I affirm that I am one with God and aligned with divine life, order, peace, and plenty. I am ready for this new day, whatever it may bring.
If I have specific goals in mind, I decide on the first steps to reach them. If I have an upcoming test, I study. If I’ve been assigned a task at work, I prepare by gathering the resources I need. When new opportunities arise, I seize them with confidence.
Preparation is necessary in many facets of life. My heart and mind are open and prepared for every blessing this day holds.

Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstruction from my people’s way.—Isaiah 57:14

Elders

IN CONNECTING WITH GOD AND HUMANITY, I EXPERIENCE THE WISDOM OF THE AGES.
Wisdom is often held by our elders—those who have lived long, faced tragedy and triumph, and learned the lessons of life. We are blessed as they hand down wisdom from generation to generation.
Our elders have lived through immense change in our modes of travel, communication, business, and culture. I honor how they have contributed positively to our society’s progress with their talents, ingenuity, and courage.
As my elders share their wisdom with me, I grow toward becoming a wise elder myself. I welcome the opportunity to learn and to share my lessons with others.

We speak God’s wisdom, secret and hidden, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. –1 Corinthians 2:7

Comfort

I AM SECURE AND COMFORTED BY THE SPIRIT.
A harsh rebuke or an unexpected challenge may prompt me to feel upset or confused. Although I may attempt to understand the situation by ruminating on it, some experiences are best understood not in the head, but in the heart.
I step aside and take a moment to myself, breathing deeply and reconnecting with Spirit. I remember I am a beloved expression of God, guided by divine wisdom.
As I focus on the presence of Spirit within me, I am comforted. No words or circumstances can separate me from God. I realize that circumstances come and go, but God is always here—with me, in me, and as me. As I let go of hurt or confusion, I am secure and comforted in the spirit of God.

As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you.—Isaiah 66:13

Harmony

I AM ONE WITH THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
The word harmony is often used to describe the balance of notes and sounds in music, but harmony also describes a life in balance. I achieve balance more easily when I attune to the presence of God expressing in and through me.
The Divine Presence is stronger and more stable than any discord or conflict. It is a constant, steady force that brings concordance to my thoughts, words, and actions. Through an awareness of God, I experience greater peace and balance. I know that with God, every circumstance encountered and every dream imagined can contribute to harmony and order in my life and the lives of others.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord … to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre.—Psalm 92:1-3
