Secure
ALL IS WELL.
Everyone needs to feel safe, to have an inner assurance as well as an outer assurance of sustenance and security. Today I contemplate the promise of divine protection. When Jesus wanted to reassure his followers, he reminded them that God is present in all creation, even caring about the tiniest bird. This idea gives me comfort too. I am confident that the power and presence of God is protecting me in all ways.
Any time I am concerned for others, I relax in the awareness that God is guiding my loved ones to peace and safety. I reinforce my sense of security through prayer, which deepens my conviction that all is well.

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?—Matthew 6:26

Does it appear that the world is so confused today that it seems that there is no hope for the future? The Joy of Jesus is completely based on the future of another life. In Christ Jesus we have a new life.

Often, I see so many homeless people in the downtown area seeking or begging for money or food. It breaks my heart each time. We pray for them that their needs can be met. The real question is why?

The Joy of Jesus is based upon helping those in need. Jesus feed four thousand people with very little bread and fish. Yet we have so much more and do so little to help. Can we really help the helpless?

The only answer to help these people and any real problem in the world is ones absolute faith in the Joy of Jesus. God gave us Jesus as our Savior. Jesus died on the cross and was raised from the grave, just to return one day for the faithful. This is the Joy of Jesus. Our faith is his joy...

Trust
I TRUST IN GOD, AND MY LIFE SHAPES UP!
When a potter throws clay onto the wheel, he or she may not know if the finished piece will be a vase, a bowl, or a plate. Though the technique can be messy and the result uncertain, the potter trusts the process, giving the clay complete attention. The potter shapes and molds the clay with creativity and skill, watching the art take shape.
Like a potter, I shape and mold the moments of my life. With a sense of creative wonder, I attend to each matter before me. If circumstances unexpectedly shift, I refocus on the Christ Presence within and return to my peaceful center. I trust in God, and though the outcome may be uncertain, I know my life is taking shape in a way that blesses and prospers me and others.

Happy are those who trust in the Lord.—Proverbs 16:20

Free
I MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES TO BE MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY FREE!
Poor choices can lead to unhealthy habits or patterns that impede our spiritual growth. We may even unintentionally give away our personal power. If I become aware of such patterns in myself, I have the opportunity to reclaim my power and freedom.
I visualize cutting the cords of false beliefs and destructive habits. I affirm: Limiting ideas and behaviors have no hold on me. I am mentally and emotionally free!
As I learn from my missteps and apply these lessons in positive ways, I am free to be my best and most authentic self. I am empowered to interact with others in new ways. My newfound freedom supports appropriate and constructive choices.

The Lord is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked.—Psalm 129:4

Exhale
I RELEASE WHAT NO LONGER SERVES ME.
My lungs have a finite capacity. So to inhale more air, I must first exhale. Breathing is a continuous process of receiving and releasing. It exemplifies the ongoing ebb and flow of life.
Exhaling and inhaling are essential for human life. As I exhale, carbon dioxide is released, which sustains other life forms. I breathe out what no longer serves me so I can take in the life-giving oxygen I need. All life is nourished by releasing the old and opening to the new.
Today I contemplate what I am willing to release and what I am willing to embrace; what I am willing to give and what I am willing to receive. I open to the ebb and flow of life.

The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.—Genesis 2:7

Wise
I AM FILLED WITH THE WISDOM OF SPIRIT.
When I claim that I am wise, I’m not boasting about something I think I have accomplished on my own. I know that wisdom comes from opening myself to the flow of Spirit. I am wise when I allow divine wisdom to express through me.
Attuned to Spirit, I convey my beliefs and insights with love and respect. I speak and act in ways that uphold all people as beloved of God.
Bringing together divine wisdom and good judgment, I do my best to make a positive difference and encourage the highest and best outcomes for myself and others. Gently and consistently, I choose words and actions that contribute to the well-being of all people.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom.—James 3:13

Growth
I AM TRANSFORMED.
Everywhere I look, I see life in transition. God is in every part of this ever-changing world, and God is within me as I grow and change.
The books I read, the movies or shows I see, and the worship services I attend may provide insight and inspiration for my transformation, but the greatest influence is the presence of God within. The Presence nudges me to expand my view of life, to courageously step out of my comfort zone, and to respond to change with openness and enthusiasm.
Life’s experiences spur my spiritual growth and teach me to rely on God’s guiding presence. With faith, I move through transition, and I am transformed.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds.—Romans 12:2
