Pray for Others
UPLIFTED IN PRAYER, I AFFIRM THE HIGHEST GOOD FOR ALL.
Through the power of prayer, I lift up my dear ones. Any time is the perfect time to visualize my family and friends vitally alive, enjoying the gift of life and living in harmony with each other and the world around them. Prayer is an easy gift to give.
If something on the news catches my attention, I add it to my daily prayer. Looking beyond the images, I see healing unfolding and a divine plan for good being revealed. Nothing is beyond the power of God to restore, to re-create, and to resolve, so I give it all to God in prayer.
As I read the Daily Word, I know that I am part of a vast spiritual community praying for one another with faith in the good that will result.

Pray for one another, so that you may be healed.—James 5:16

Healing
I RADIATE HEALTH, HARMONY, AND WHOLENESS.
Some say that healing happens in God’s time. I know that God’s time is continuous. Healing is occurring at every moment. As my physical body responds to its natural call to wholeness, healing is manifest.
I cooperate with the harmonizing, regenerating energy of God radiating through me as health, harmony, and wholeness. If I am experiencing a time of dis-ease, I listen to my body and my inner guidance. I affirm divine life in my thoughts, words, and prayers. I get the rest and nutrition I need to support the divine healing work happening within me.
I set aside impatience or frustration, and focus my energy on health and well-being. Healing is in progress this very moment.

I am going to bring it recovery and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them abundance of prosperity and security.—Jeremiah 33:6

Gratitude
I GIVE THANKS FOR ALL OF LIFE’S BLESSINGS.
A wise person once said that gratitude is the memory of the heart. My memories enrich my life as the days and years go by. I recall treasured memories that continue to enrich my soul.
I choose to review my memory bank with gratitude. Recalling the kindness of others brings a smile to my face and lifts my spirits. I appreciate the people who have shared this life with me. My memories of good times and good people reveal the light of Spirit that shines unceasingly on us all.
As I look back with gratitude for the loved ones and opportunities that have brought me great joy and fulfillment, I also enjoy the fullness of this present moment. Right now, I am making memories for the years to come.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.—Matthew 6:21

God in Action

GOD IS AT WORK IN ME.
I am a unique individual, and God is active in and through me. Through the power of free will, I choose the mold or pattern I desire. In so doing, I cocreate with God.
My heart is lifted as I see the beauty of God’s world. My song is in tune with the rhythm of the Divine. My spirit was not meant to be earth-bound. As I walk upon the earth, I feel the pulse of divine life in every step. I am a part of the very soil that I tread. God is in all things—the earth, moon, and stars, in the distant and the near. I bless and praise the wonders of God’s creation.
I see God in all people everywhere. The heartbeat of all humankind is the heart of the Divine. Thank you, God, that I am free to express the real me, which is a part of all that is good, which is one with you.

I will sing and make melody to the Lord.—Psalm 27:6

Secure
ALL IS WELL.
Everyone needs to feel safe, to have an inner assurance as well as an outer assurance of sustenance and security. Today I contemplate the promise of divine protection. When Jesus wanted to reassure his followers, he reminded them that God is present in all creation, even caring about the tiniest bird. This idea gives me comfort too. I am confident that the power and presence of God is protecting me in all ways.
Any time I am concerned for others, I relax in the awareness that God is guiding my loved ones to peace and safety. I reinforce my sense of security through prayer, which deepens my conviction that all is well.

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?—Matthew 6:26

Does it appear that the world is so confused today that it seems that there is no hope for the future? The Joy of Jesus is completely based on the future of another life. In Christ Jesus we have a new life.

Often, I see so many homeless people in the downtown area seeking or begging for money or food. It breaks my heart each time. We pray for them that their needs can be met. The real question is why?

The Joy of Jesus is based upon helping those in need. Jesus feed four thousand people with very little bread and fish. Yet we have so much more and do so little to help. Can we really help the helpless?

The only answer to help these people and any real problem in the world is ones absolute faith in the Joy of Jesus. God gave us Jesus as our Savior. Jesus died on the cross and was raised from the grave, just to return one day for the faithful. This is the Joy of Jesus. Our faith is his joy...

Trust
I TRUST IN GOD, AND MY LIFE SHAPES UP!
When a potter throws clay onto the wheel, he or she may not know if the finished piece will be a vase, a bowl, or a plate. Though the technique can be messy and the result uncertain, the potter trusts the process, giving the clay complete attention. The potter shapes and molds the clay with creativity and skill, watching the art take shape.
Like a potter, I shape and mold the moments of my life. With a sense of creative wonder, I attend to each matter before me. If circumstances unexpectedly shift, I refocus on the Christ Presence within and return to my peaceful center. I trust in God, and though the outcome may be uncertain, I know my life is taking shape in a way that blesses and prospers me and others.

Happy are those who trust in the Lord.—Proverbs 16:20

Free
I MAKE HEALTHY CHOICES TO BE MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY FREE!
Poor choices can lead to unhealthy habits or patterns that impede our spiritual growth. We may even unintentionally give away our personal power. If I become aware of such patterns in myself, I have the opportunity to reclaim my power and freedom.
I visualize cutting the cords of false beliefs and destructive habits. I affirm: Limiting ideas and behaviors have no hold on me. I am mentally and emotionally free!
As I learn from my missteps and apply these lessons in positive ways, I am free to be my best and most authentic self. I am empowered to interact with others in new ways. My newfound freedom supports appropriate and constructive choices.

The Lord is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked.—Psalm 129:4

Exhale - Thursday, June 06, 2013 | Daily Word

Exhale
I RELEASE WHAT NO LONGER SERVES ME.
My lungs have a finite capacity. So to inhale more air, I must first exhale. Breathing is a continuous process of receiving and releasing. It exemplifies the ongoing ebb and flow of life.
Exhaling and inhaling are essential for human life. As I exhale, carbon dioxide is released, which sustains other life forms. I breathe out what no longer serves me so I can take in the life-giving oxygen I need. All life is nourished by releasing the old and opening to the new.
Today I contemplate what I am willing to release and what I am willing to embrace; what I am willing to give and what I am willing to receive. I open to the ebb and flow of life.

The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.—Genesis 2:7

Wise
I AM FILLED WITH THE WISDOM OF SPIRIT.
When I claim that I am wise, I’m not boasting about something I think I have accomplished on my own. I know that wisdom comes from opening myself to the flow of Spirit. I am wise when I allow divine wisdom to express through me.
Attuned to Spirit, I convey my beliefs and insights with love and respect. I speak and act in ways that uphold all people as beloved of God.
Bringing together divine wisdom and good judgment, I do my best to make a positive difference and encourage the highest and best outcomes for myself and others. Gently and consistently, I choose words and actions that contribute to the well-being of all people.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom.—James 3:13

Growth
I AM TRANSFORMED.
Everywhere I look, I see life in transition. God is in every part of this ever-changing world, and God is within me as I grow and change.
The books I read, the movies or shows I see, and the worship services I attend may provide insight and inspiration for my transformation, but the greatest influence is the presence of God within. The Presence nudges me to expand my view of life, to courageously step out of my comfort zone, and to respond to change with openness and enthusiasm.
Life’s experiences spur my spiritual growth and teach me to rely on God’s guiding presence. With faith, I move through transition, and I am transformed.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds.—Romans 12:2

Harmony
I PRAISE EVERY ONE OF MY RELATIONSHIPS.
In the midst of conflict or misunderstanding, I may not realize the powerful tool I have to bring peace to every relationship. That tool is praise. Charles Fillmore wrote: “Turn the power of praise upon whatever you wish to increase. Give thanks that it is now fulfilling your ideal.”
I turn the power of praise upon every relationship in my life. I praise the good I see in others and the good I do not see. I give thanks that the people in my life are interesting and unique, as each brings me new understanding and joy. I praise every opportunity to share with others. I give thanks that every relationship is continually growing into something greater. I behold the Christ in all, and see each person blessed with peace, love, and happiness. My life is in harmony.

Live in harmony with one another.—Romans 12:16

Open Mind - Sunday, June 02, 2013 | Daily Word

Open Mind
WITH AN OPEN MIND, I STRETCH TO NEW DIMENSIONS OF AWARENESS.
Oliver Wendell Holmes said that a mind, once stretched, never regains its original dimensions. I allow my mind to be stretched as I think of all that God is. My open mind lets in the light of God to illuminate my perceptions and beliefs. I practice spiritual discernment, as I become aware that there is more to life than meets the eye.
I see God in action—in a sunrise, in the face of a child, in my life’s work, and in all my activities. I see God in me in new ways.
I am more forgiving and less judgmental. I am more accepting of others. I develop greater understanding by seeing from many perspectives. With an open mind, I stretch to new dimensions of spiritual awareness.

If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you.—James 1:5

Joyful - Saturday, June 01, 2013 | Daily Word

Joyful
THIS IS A GOOD DAY, A JOYOUS DAY.
I begin this day in a good mood. This is a great day, a joyous time to be alive. Every day can start this way when I remember the Psalmist’s words: “Joy comes with the morning.”
Yesterday’s disappointments have no power to cloud today. I can enjoy this new day; I can do my best; I can think creative thoughts; I can spread peace and goodwill wherever I go.
Spending a few moments in prayer early in the morning sets the tone for the hours to come. When I become still, listen, and let my thoughts and feelings be Christ-directed, I ensure that it will be a good day.
As I go about my activities, I have a spring in my step, a song in my heart, and a smile on my face. I am in a good mood, joyful, and expectant.

In the morning sow your seed.—Ecclesiastes 11:6

Honesty - Friday, May 31, 2013 | Daily Word

Honesty
I FACE LIFE HONESTLY, AND I AM FREE.
At times we may feel afraid to be our authentic selves, to expose our real thoughts and feelings for fear of rejection. We may even approach prayer with this same fear. But if we hide our real thoughts, beliefs, and longings, we separate ourselves from God and from others.
We needn’t fear being who we truly are. The self that we try to hide and keep in the background is a worthy and wonderful expression of God.
When we approach prayer with trust and honesty, we find release and peace. Light shines into the dark corners of our mind and heart. Our honest prayer for guidance never goes unanswered. Our honest prayer for understanding is heard. Our honest prayer for Truth sets us free.

The truth will make you free.—John 8:32

Confidence
I TAKE ACTION TO MANIFEST MY HIGHEST GOOD.
Because I have faith in God, I have faith in myself. I have all the tools I need to achieve my dreams, for God within me is all-wise, all-knowing, all-conquering Spirit.
Through the power of God, I transcend any appearance of lack or limitation. If I feel I need more patience, more perseverance, more understanding, or if I want to become a more loving person, Spirit will reveal to me what I must do to succeed and grow.
Through prayer, I draw upon the spirit of God for answers, and I move forward with confidence. I take action to manifest my highest good.
As I keep my mind and heart open to inspiration and guidance, my faith in God increases and so does my faith in myself.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.—Psalm 37:5

Journey
I AM FULFILLED ON MY LIFE’S JOURNEY.
When I am at a crossroads, what do I do? Do I take the familiar path or the one less traveled? Whichever path I choose, I make a commitment to enjoy the journey. All paths lead me to, and through, new adventures.
Even when I am not making major life decisions, I enjoy my daily path. Whether I am going to work, to church, or to school, whether I am on vacation or performing a routine task, I remind myself to enjoy all life has to offer. I look around and see the good that abounds. As I do, I experience new joys I might otherwise have missed.
With each new day, I experience fulfillment on my life’s journey.

I know that there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live.—Ecclesiastes 3:12

Prosperity
I AFFIRM MY DIVINE INHERITANCE AND CLAIM MY GOOD.
Being prosperity-minded means realizing the merit of my spiritual inheritance. I am abundantly blessed with the gifts of Spirit—life, understanding, power, love, imagination, and strength, to name a few. If ever I am concerned about the depth of my spiritual heritage, I tune in to the Silence and let Divine Mind lead me to my good.
I affirm my spiritual birthright and accept my divine legacy of good. I am Divine Life. I am Divine Power. I am Divine Love. These powerful declarations of Truth activate a prosperity consciousness within me, spawning a life of balance, wholeness, and well-being.
We always pray for you, asking that our God will make you worthy of his call and will fulfill by his power every good resolve.—2 Thessalonians 1:11

Tribute
I HONOR THE COURAGE AND SELFLESS SERVICE OF THOSE WHO GAVE TO OUR COUNTRY.
Many nations and cultures set aside a day to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed for the common good. With deep respect, I honor those who have served courageously to preserve our safety and security.
In quiet moments of thankful prayer, I inwardly honor those who have served our nation. I honor them outwardly by allowing their example to inspire my own endeavors.
As I pay homage to the courage and generosity of others who came before me, I also appreciate those qualities in myself and the people I care about. I am grateful for the willingness of people everywhere to give of themselves, creating a better world for all.
If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.—1 Corinthians 12:26
