My Best - Wednesday, March 13, 2013 | Daily Word

My Best
I LIVE FROM THE CHRIST-CENTER OF MY BEING.
I know better than to compare myself or my accomplishments with those of others, either favorably or unfavorably. Doing my best is a personal and sacred matter.
With my mind centered in the Christ within, I focus on my own behavior and attitudes. As I dedicate myself to achieving my Christ potential, I may be surprised with all I can accomplish. I discover the joy and power of living from the strength of Christ within, every day in every way.
I am unlimited as I boldly move beyond my comfort zone on matters large and small. Within me lie all the wisdom and capabilities I need to be successful. I am confident of the good results that come from the Christ spirit expressing through me.
Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”—John 1:43

7 Ways to Cultivate Joy - Online Bible Study Tools

7 Ways to Cultivate Joy - Online Bible Study Tools

Want more joy in your day? Cultivate it! Joy springs from viewing the day's events from eternity's perspective. With this intentional focus, you're sure to see today differently — with more joy and conviction that God is at work in your life.
1. Rehearse with God the reasons you trust Him. Tell Him which of His attributes is your favorite right now. Read the praises of Scriptureback to Him — begin with Psalm 103. Join with another believer in prayers of thanksgiving, and delight yourself in His character.
2. Keep a "joy journal." Record the reasons you have to rejoice and the reminders of God's faithfulness that you encounter in your everyday life. In addition, why not press a leaf from your prayer walks into its pages or include a photo of a person that brings you joy each time you remember him or her? Think big — expand your journal into a "joy box" or a "joy drawer" that brings floods of joy each time you open it.
3. Surround yourself with joyful people. Joy is contagious — so build relationships with friends whose lives exhibit their confidence in God. Pray for each other that your joy in Christ would continue to increase.
4. Approach life's challenges and trials redemptively. God doesn't waste the difficult circumstances of your life but uses them to develop His character in you. Review Romans 5 andJames 1 for help in processing pressure productively. Joy will sneak up on you when you view your hardest lessons as gifts from God.
5. Make praise and gratitude a habit. Has God met a need? Praise Him! Have your challenges given you greater opportunities to see Him work? Thank Him! Joy flows from a grateful and responsive heart. Before you turn in at night, write down three to five blessings in your "joy journal." Make it a habit, and watch your joyful attitude grow.
6. Fill your mind with music. Listen to, sing, and meditate on music that draws your heart nearer to God and His Word.
7. Take the long view. Investors advise their clients not to worry about the daily ups and downs of the stock market — what matters is the long view. Does life present incredible challenges today? Are your reserves at a low, or are you enjoying a content plateau? Regardless of today's events, take the long view. Remember that God remains in charge of your days and will faithfully develop His character in you.
Remember, joy springs from viewing the day's events from eternity's perspective. Trust that God controls your life's details (Romans 8:28), that He hears your every request (Psalm 116:1), and that His joy will be your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).

Comfort
IN EVERY MOMENT, MY LOVED ONES ARE DIVINELY CARED FOR.
The people I care about show strength and faith in their daily lives. Yet we all have times of stress, sadness, anxiety or unease.
When my loved ones are grieving a loss or experiencing a change, I gently remind them that they are not alone, for within them is the strength of God. Within them is the ability to overcome any situation or setback. Within them is a resiliency greater than any challenge, for within them is divine power, providing strength and courage in times of need.
God’s comforting strength is within the people I love every moment. I remind them of this truth, and see them filled with peace and assurance.
The Lord stood by me and gave me strength.—2 Timothy 4:17

Guidance - Monday, March 11, 2013 | Daily Word

Guidance
SPIRIT GUIDES ME IN THE FULFILLMENT OF MY DREAMS.
I may be sure of my desired destination—my dreams and goals—but unsure how to reach them. Rather than drifting like a ship without a rudder, hoping to eventually reach the shore, I set a clear course using the tools available.
The most powerful tool I have is prayer. Just as a ship captain uses the stars to guide him, I turn to the wisdom and inspiration of Spirit within to steer me. Divine guidance is my inner compass. I trust it and follow its direction.
I may consult trusted advisors and listen carefully to their comments. A new and unforeseen route may unfold. Inner guidance and wise counsel help me reach my destination with ease and grace.
The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places.—Isaiah 58:11

Blessed - Sunday, March 10, 2013 | Daily Word

Blessed
I AM THE BLESSED CHILD OF MY CREATOR.
In the moment I became an idea in Divine Mind, I was blessed. I do not have to earn my blessings; they are my birthright.
In gratitude, I open my eyes to the many blessings in my life. My Creator loves me, guides me and provides for me. When I feel weak, I find a message to strengthen me. When sorrow is a burden too heavy to carry, I realize I am not alone.
My body is a wondrous vehicle for my unique expression of Spirit, nourished by the abundance around me and healed by perfect Life within. My heart sings a song only my God can hear. No one can withhold my blessings, for they are divinely rendered. With thanksgiving in my heart, I am blessed.
Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them “Humankind” when they were created.—Genesis 5:2

Caring
I AM GRATEFUL TO WALK THIS PATH WITH YOU.
Today I send this message to someone who loves and supports me: Beloved, I am grateful to walk this sacred path with someone as caring as you. I feel your support through the hard times in my life as you listen with an open heart.
You are a compassionate expression of God. You see me as I truly am—not broken or diminished, but strong at my core. I feel your faith in me when you empathize and laugh with me, when you partner with me in prayer. I feel your caring nature every time you bless me with love and remind me I am not alone.
Your wise and reassuring words are encouraging. Spurred by your caring presence, I know I will not only survive, I will thrive!
Love one another deeply from the heart.—1 Peter 1:22

Divine Order - Friday, March 08, 2013 | Daily Word

Divine Order
I BEGIN WITH GOD AND ALL IS IN ORDER.

Counting is the first demonstration of order we learn as children, and when we count, we always begin with one. To align with divine order in my life, I begin with one—One Power, One Presence, One Spirit—God.
I turn my attention to the One Source for healing, abundance, comfort and peace. Immersed in the pure presence of Being, I am inspired to take action.
New ideas are planted in the fertile soil of my imagination. Spirit guides me to cast out what I need to release and tend what I need to nurture. With new clarity, I see what I have learned from past experiences. I trust God to reveal the wisdom of the present moment. Nothing is out of place. Just as when I count, I begin with One and all is in order.
In the beginning was the Word.—John 1:1

Nourished - Thursday, March 07, 2013 | Daily Word

Nourished
I AM WELL-NOURISHED, PHYSICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY.
My body is sustained by proper nutrition. Healthy food and activities, clean air and water—these energize me physically and keep my mind sharp. A healthy lifestyle helps me confidently manage the changes and challenges in my life.
Yet I am also nourished in ways beyond the physical; I am strengthened and energized by spiritual nourishment. Prayer and meditation keep me attuned to the workings of God in and through me. Inspirational reading and music illumine my mind. I cultivate a loving heart by engaging in life with love, energy and passion.
Well-nourished, physically and spiritually, I view every challenge as an opportunity for growth and greet life with strength and resolve.
One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.—Matthew 4:4

Fearless - Wednesday, March 06, 2013 | Daily Word

Fearless
I AM FEARLESS, FOR GOD IS ALWAYS WITH ME AND WITHIN ME.
My awareness of God’s presence is the foundation of my faith. It supports and inspires me to live fully, confidently and fearlessly.
As I awaken from a restful night’s sleep, my first thoughts are of gratitude for God’s abiding presence through the night and for the dawning of a new day replete with potential. I welcome the adventure that is my life. I express my ideas and interact with others openly, with self-assurance. I carry out my plans confidently. If I need to redirect, retool or start anew, I face the challenge without fear, for God is with me and within me.
At the close of the day, I give thanks for the presence of God supporting me every step of the way.
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you … Do not fear.–Deuteronomy 31:8

Timing - Tuesday, March 05, 2013 | Daily Word

Timing
MY GOOD IS REVEALED IN DIVINE TIMING.
It is said that timing is everything—in relationships, career, finances and more. So I choose not to struggle with or force circumstances in life. I know the time will be right when I feel a nudge from Spirit within to move in a new direction.
I pay attention to my intuition, knowing that inner wisdom and divine understanding direct me rightly. I have learned what happens when I disregard my inner compass. Acting too soon or too late may result in misunderstandings and lost opportunities.
But not this time! This time I wait patiently for clear direction and follow my inner guidance, knowing I will be guided to the right and perfect action at the right and perfect time.
See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation!—2 Corinthians 6:2

Practice
I CHERISH MY TIME OF COMMUNION WITH GOD.
At times my prayer and meditation practice may seem stagnant or monotonous. But then I remember that communing with my God-essence is the most important thing I do each day.
The practice of prayer and meditation is a muscle that needs regular exercise. An athlete consistently trains for competition, and in the process achieves endurance, form and strength. In the same way, my strong prayer practice increases my capacity to connect consciously with the essence of All That Is.
I am one with my source of inner peace and inspiration, clarity and assurance. As I tap in to the Divine in prayer, I know my way will be made clear. I am grateful for the practice of communing with my Creator.
Put these things into practice, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress.—1 Timothy 4:15

Energy - Sunday, March 03, 2013 | Daily Word

Energy
I AM DIVINE ENERGY EXPRESSING AS VITALITY AND LIFE.
God created me with the physical, mental and spiritual capacity to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. Whether I am active or resting, I am vitally alive. While my body rests, my mind may dream of my next endeavor. When I’m physically active, my mind clears as I focus on the task at hand.
In the Silence of prayer and meditation, I still my body and mind, tapping into the Source of strength and energy within. No thought or distraction interferes with the flow of energy in and through me. I am recharged physically, mentally and spiritually.
At work, at play, and at rest, I channel my energy into activities that bring joy to myself and others. Energized by Spirit within, I live an abundant life.
I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.—John 10:10

Joy - Friday, March 01, 2013 | Daily Word

Joy
MY LIFE IS FILLED WITH JOY.
When I desire greater happiness, I choose actions and activities that cultivate joy. I allow praise, gratitude and positivity to become my daily companions. I build a strong circle of family and friends and support them by being cheerful and uplifting, encouraging and supportive. In turn, they encourage me. My joy grows as I share it with others. It is like the contagion of laughter—when one person feels joyful, others catch that spirit and the joy spreads.
Joy is a state of mind that can be nurtured and strengthened. Joyful thoughts, words and actions open the way for the energizing spirit of God to fully express in every aspect of my life. I feel vibrantly alive as I fill my life with joy.
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouts of joy.—Job 8:21

Celebrate - Thursday, February 28, 2013 | Daily Word

Celebrate
I CELEBRATE THE FULLNESS OF LIFE.
Celebrations commonly occur on birthdays, anniversaries and holidays; yet all types of experiences make up the fullness of my life. In life I will face loss and challenge, joy and achievement. Understanding and appreciating the full spectrum of life’s experiences, I celebrate all points along the way.
I celebrate the moments that lift me up and those that challenge me to step up. I praise every evidence of God’s goodness and every occasion where the activity of God comes into view. I am filled with joy and enthusiasm for living and loving all that life has to offer. Praise and celebration invite the good to spring forth. The fullness of life is a gift from God.
You shall celebrate with all the bounty that the Lord your God has given to you.—Deuteronomy 26:11

Insight - Wednesday, February 27, 2013 | Daily Word

Insight
SPIRITUAL INSIGHT ILLUMINES MY MIND AND GUIDES MY STEPS.
As I’m driving home on a stormy night, a flash of lightning illuminates the landscape. For an instant, I can see my way. Similarly, a flash of insight illumines my mind in the midst of a dark situation. In that instant, I see the true nature of a person or event. Insights are an essential element of wisdom, allowing me to discover solutions I could not fathom before.
Insight does not come through striving or stress, grasping for answers or polling others for advice. I need only become quiet and still, and look to the kingdom of God within me. When I’m relaxed and receptive, spiritual insight comes. I have an “Aha!” experience. In a flash of insight, I know the mind of God is my ever-present source of wisdom.
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever else you get, get insight.—Proverbs 4:7

Harmony - Tuesday, February 26, 2013 | Daily Word

Harmony
I CREATE HARMONY BY TUNING IN TO GOD’S PERFECT ORDER.
When disharmony surfaces in my life, I can easily blame others for the discord or even lash out at them. But blame serves no positive purpose; it only delays peace.
No matter how disagreeable someone may seem, I can still feel harmonious. In prayer, I seek common ground with others by blessing them. I attune myself to the harmony of God—the same divine principle that orchestrates the order of the universe.
In challenging situations, I do not undermine the good work of prayer by reacting negatively. I let powerful, compassionate impressions seep into my mind until they direct my responses. I align with the harmony of God by prayerfully blessing all.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.—Romans 12:14

Healing
THE FLOW OF DIVINE LIFE REVITALIZES ME.

Just as life-giving waters replenish a parched land, the healing power of Divine Life replenishes me. I am body, mind and spirit. No aspect of my being is untouched by the healing life of God as it directs the healing of wounds and the casting off of dis-ease.
My body is infused with the energy and vitality of Divine Life. My cells dance with the vibration of wholeness, and I am strengthened.
My heart and mind are enlivened and uplifted by the life of God within. Divine guidance is clear and I am confident of success. My spirit is a channel for the ever-renewing, ever-healing flow of Divine Life in me.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.—Revelation 22:1

Today
I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE WONDERS OF THIS DAY.
God’s love surrounds me and expresses in both obvious and subtle ways. Setting aside the burdens of yesterday and any worries about tomorrow, I lovingly give my full attention to today. I mindfully notice and appreciate each present moment and each person I meet.
I tune in to God’s loving presence, whether I am alone in the Silence or immersed in the day’s busy routine. I feel the Presence in the rhythm of my breath and sense it in the smile of a passerby. I experience God when I help a co-worker or when I receive a compliment. As I let go of reliving yesterday or planning for tomorrow, my heart rejoices in the wonders of this day, this very special day that the Lord has made.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.—Psalm 118:24

Prosperity
AS I APPRECIATE MY GOOD, IT EXPANDS.
Magnets attract metal. When one holds a magnet over a collection of items, only those with metallic properties will move toward it. The same is true of my thoughts. Whatever I am thinking about attracts thoughts and ideas with similar properties.
The universe abundantly meets my every need. When my mind and heart are filled with gratitude, I realize my good. I thank God for loving relationships, for the ongoing renewal of my mind and body, and for the seemingly miraculous ways in which my needs are continually met.
The joy and gratitude I share bless everyone around me. As I appreciate my good, it expands.
God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance.—2 Corinthians 9:8

Spirited
I AM A SPIRITED BEING, BUBBLING OVER WITH JOY AND ENTHUSIASM FOR LIFE!
How would I experience the next moment if I were to take a deep breath and declare with lively heartfelt vigor, “I am a spirited being, bubbling over with joy and enthusiasm for life!”? I would feel such a positive surge that, regardless of how disheartened I may have felt up to that point, my body and spirit would be instantly charged.
Speaking such a powerful affirmation from a soul level brightens my outlook and attitude. My mood lifts and I feel enlivened, uplifted and filled with zeal.
I am a spirited and spiritual being, filled with the animating life force of God. I am ready for action, and I bubble over with joy and enthusiasm for life!
My words declare the uprightness of my heart, and what my lips know they speak sincerely.—Job 33:3
