Pray for Others - Tuesday, October 07, 2014 | Daily Word

Pray for Others

I BLESS OTHERS THROUGH PRAYER.
Praying for another is like giving an anonymous gift. I imagine the individual receiving the ideas, direction, and answers they need. When I pray for someone’s health, I envision them vibrant and energized, healed and whole. As I pray for friends and family, I see them receiving exactly what they need at exactly the time they need it. If I affirm a specific outcome, I always add “this or something better.”
Part of my prayer activity is to also let go. If I pray for someone’s well-being but continue to worry, I am demonstrating doubt rather than faith. Instead, I pray with confidence that God is already making known what needs to be known and providing the right and perfect answers to everyone’s needs.

Pray for one another, so that you may be healed.—James 5:16

Kindness

I AM KIND AND LOVING TO MYSELF AND OTHERS.
Kindness is a choice. It costs nothing, yet it is wonderfully fulfilling. When I treat others with kindness, I feel better about myself. Every act of kindness—large or small—produces joy, peace, and happiness.
Any person I meet may carry a burden inside. A simple, heartfelt smile may bring them hope. Opening a door, saying hello, and offering a helping hand may make a major difference in someone’s day.
I also remember to be kind to myself. If I criticize my looks, actions, or thoughts, I stop and find one aspect of myself that I like. Being kind to myself is the first step toward being kind, patient, and loving to others. Kindness is a choice. As I choose kindness, I am rewarded with love, peace, patience, and joy.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.—1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Inspire - Sunday, October 05, 2014 | Daily Word

SPIRIT INSPIRES ME IN NEW WAYS.
Inspiration comes through many channels—people I meet, places I visit, words and pictures that stir my heart and spirit. When I am inspired, I feel new energy and connect to something bigger than myself. I aspire to reach new heights and achieve goals I may not have imagined possible.
Inspiration is always within reach. In quiet moments, I tap in to my Source, which fills me with divine ideas and encourages me in new directions. I am confident and excited about the possibilities ahead. With God as my guide, I am motivated to grow beyond my self-imposed limits and to claim my happiness and be of service to others. I respond to Spirit’s call with confidence and joy.

Examine yourselves to see whether you are living in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you?—2 Corinthians 13:5

Sacred Space

I CREATE SACRED SPACE INSIDE OF ME.
Certain places serve as touchstones for my experience of the sacred. Within the walls of a cathedral or among the ancient trees of a redwood grove, I may feel especially close to the Divine. Even if I cannot access one of these special places, an experience of God is always available to me; it is as close as my next prayer or mindful breath.
I create space for God by pausing, relaxing my body, and opening my heart and mind to Truth. As I turn within to the secret place of the Most High, I am richly blessed. Infinite love fills my heart, spiritual strength nourishes my soul, and divine wisdom guides my thoughts, words, and actions. For this exquisite, ever-available experience of the sacred within me, I give thanks.

Whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray.—Matthew 6:6

Forgive

AS I FORGIVE, I AM FREE.
Forgiveness is an act of love, for myself as well as for others. I forgive in order to cleanse my heart of negativity and open to the love of God.
Forgiveness is not about the other person; it is about me. When I forgive, I release judgment, hurt, and resentment and find freedom. In forgiving others, I am loving myself enough to embrace freedom. I choose to see the situation that caused me pain in a different way. Every experience is an opportunity to learn, and I choose to be an overcomer rather than a victim. The love of God is at work in all situations. Forgiveness frees me to focus on what is true and everlasting—our oneness with God and each other.

For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline.—2 Timothy 1:7

I OPEN TO THE FULL EXPRESSION OF GOD IN ME.
I may have felt lost and alone, believing I was separate from God. Diminished by my sense of limitation and fear, I may have believed I was not worthy of God’s good. Yet as I open to the presence of God within, I realize my inherent worthiness and that God supplies my every need. The challenges and circumstances of my life may change, but God within is unfailing, steady, and strong.
Through prayer and meditation, I bring awareness to all that I am in God. I begin by focusing on my breath and observing what is happening in my body and emotions. I then go deeper into the Silence, beyond the physical, and experience oneness. I am attuned and aware, and I open to the full expression of God in me.

The kingdom of God is among you.—Luke 17:21

Achievement - Wednesday, October 01, 2014 | Daily Word

I ACCOMPLISH WHAT I SET OUT TO ACHIEVE.
I am successful in life as I partner with Spirit. When I am spiritually centered, I invite divine wisdom and judgment to be my guide. I open to Spirit’s direction as I clarify my goals. I point myself toward a target and achieve even more than I thought possible. I allow myself to think big, set aside doubt, and let go of fear. With God, all things are possible.
I listen to Spirit’s guidance, and with each step, I proceed in faith. In partnership with God, I watch as results are revealed in divine order and time. I celebrate each small success. If I diverge from my path, I reconnect with Spirit and carry on. With God’s guidance and my perseverance, I accomplish whatever I set out to achieve.

For this purpose he called you … so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord.—2 Thessalonians 2:14
